FashionAir lifts off Soon.

Simon Fuller (Creater of the Idol Franchise) and Sonjin Lee (of Net-a-Porter fame) have combined their powerful forces to create FashionAir.
“Scheduled to launch later in 2009, the site will host style-focused entertainment, education, and news content, as well as a social networking function. Comprised entirely of original content, Fashionair will feature a weekly live news and pop culture show with everything from behind-the-scenes footage to the hottest selling items at the hottest retailers, to one-on-one interviews with designers, photographers, makeup artists and the like. A styling show hosted by boldfaced industry names will help viewers master and adapt the latest trends to their own wardrobes. Giving site users a chance to interact with the experts, viewers will be able to submit their own personal video style diaries for potential airing on the site.
Other perks include the opportunity to create personal profiles with mood boards, wish and gift lists, and other fashion files with content from the site.
Unlike other style sites, Fashionair will not be a retailer. Rather than sell merchandise, the goal is to drive users to 500+ e-tailers from around the world through fashion-specific trend content, style information, and brand integration. Most of the merchandise discussed in the style segments will be showcased on the site with photos and other detailed information, including where users can find the items, as well as suggestions on the luxury and budget versions of each item.”- Via the Intelligence Group
BACK.
We took an extended commercial break. The winter came, I was beaten, broken, laid off, pissed off, overextended and generally underwhelmed. But I’m back with more creamy, Hassan like goodness to serve up. This time we’re going to do it a little differently and just be more…ME. Got it? Good.
Fall Trend Alert-Florals

Florals in various neutralized shades will constantly be “cropping” up, but some of my favorites are ones that are used in the ways that almost look like water colors on a canvas. Trina Turk’s new rose print is the best graphic example of that. Feminine, bold, and inherntly young, Trina manages to avoid the old flower print cliche.

A Day Made Better

Today marks OfficeMax’s “A Day Made Better” initative as the company is dolling out classroom supplies to 1,300 lucky –and unknowing–teachers nationwide (that more than $1M). With the help of Adopt-A-Classroom, principals at the schools have selected the instructors they feel are innovative and passionate about their teaching techniques and each will be surprised in-class today with the educational equivalent of a swag bag. A slew of celebs like Julianne Moore and Ashton Kutcher are supporting the cause. It’s rumored that the teachers will get a sampling of the more chic items like the ones designer Alexander Wang created. In fact, Wang’s latest collection was in-part inspired by the classic composition notebook so all the front rowers took away one of their own courtesy of OfficeMax (the company also sponsored his show). ”It was one of our signature prints, making our ties with Office Max fun and relevant.”
Brad Pitt+Kiehl's= Earth Friendly Beauty
Brad Pitt REALLY can do no wrong. From aging gracefully, snagging Angelina, being the first celebrity caucasian to A. Endorse Carol’s Daughter products, and B. Admit that out of sheer technical ignorance, most bi-racial parents have their kids walking around looking like Boo-Boo The Fool, to his HUGE donation to support the banning of Proposition 8 in California, Brad Pitt is just the EFFING Man. Now this: In an unprecedented celebrity/brand collaboration, Pitt has partnered with Kiehl’s around the release of a biodegradable skincare product, of which 100% of sales will go towards environmental initiatives. Kiehls Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser will be the first “Cradle to Cradle” certified product to be produced by the brand; which means that 100% of the finished prodcut-fromt he packaging to ingredients is biodegradable. Brangelina strikes again!
Heidi Klum: ULTIMATE Host

I kind of avoided the Emmys this year because the show is usually a snore fest, I was really busy last week, and I kind of don’t want to cover it until I can actually be there. That said, your one Emmy fashion post is dedicated to Heidi Klum.
She made multiple impeccable outfit changes throughout the evening, each one a showstopper in it’s own way. She began her very busy Emmy evening in Armani for the red carpet (shown above) and then changed into an Elise Øverland black sequin jumpsuit followed by a Valentino pale yellow gown. Up next was a Roland Mouret black and white printed cocktail dress, a Dior leopard silk chiffon dress, a Michael Kors colbalt blue dress, a lilac and chartreuse gown by Christian Siriano (shown above) that was JUST shown on the runways, and then another Armani black dress (shown above) for the Governor’s Ball. She paired all of these stunners with makeup by Linda Hay and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz.
Nintendo DS Presents: Project Beauty

Women in Japan will soon be able to have their own handheld beauty consultant after games company Sega teamed up with cosmetics giant Shiseido to offer make-up tips on the Nintendo DS.
Project Beauty, which will go on sale from November 27 in Japan, is used with a scanning device that feeds digital images of the user’s face into the DS, which analyses the shape and position of the eyes, lips and other parts.
The software, priced at $US55 including the scanning device, matches faces with one of four groups - cool, active, cute or feminine.
It would then show a user’s face with no make-up on one screen and a proposed make-over on the other.
The new software targets women in their 20’s and 30’s, in Nintendo’s continued quest to court users who aren’t core gamers.
